Senvion has been selected by Nexif Energy as preferred supplier of the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contracts and maintenance agreements for two Australian wind projects totaling more than 300 MW.

The 25-turbine Glen Innes Wind Farm and 59-turbine Lincoln Gap Wind Farm are located in New South Wales and South Australia, respectively. The projects will comprise Senvion 3.6M140 turbines – marking the model’s first installation in Australia.

The latest variant of the Senvion 3.XM platform was introduced at the WindEnergy Hamburg fair in September.

“We are delighted to be working with Nexif Energy to introduce the 3.6M140 to the Australian market,” states Jürgen Geissinger, CEO of Senvion. “With this announcement, we prove that we are well positioned to expand our activities in Australia and that this new upgraded variant to our product portfolio ensures we can offer our customers optimized solutions for a wide range of wind regimes.”

According to Senvion, the preferred supplier agreement represents an important milestone in the progress toward final investment decisions, which are expected to be made next year.
